Is Trump escalating tensions in Syria to distract from problems at home?

The two main stories in US politics ATM seem to be Mueller and foreign policy aggression. A cynical reading of this would suggest that the tail is wagging the dog. This could have worrying consequences.

Yeah, Trump actually used chemical weapons on Syrian civilians. Trump also vetoed the investigation at the UN.

@puck61 We did veto an investigation at the UN. And an OPCW team is on its way to the site right now - but we already said we don't care what they find.
