Should I blame Donald Trump for the gas prices being damn near 3 bucks per gallon ?

I was trying to be nice here, but it seems that this isn't working. Now the gas prices shouldn't be going up now because of the EPA laws and drilling regulations from the Obama Administration. But since the last US election we have these Republican oil lobbyists along with Trump and these
tariffs, and boom. You got gas, and its high as heck, too. Comments. ☺

As much as I'd like to blame Trump, the president doesn't really affect fuel prices. More importantly, as long as we dependent on oil, the price per barrel isn't doesn't really matter; we're still going to fill out tanks.

@Graylight The pattern is just too hard to ignore.
Democrats= lower gas prices
Republicans= higher gas prices

Do you get it now. Its been that way for 40 years. ☺

@Zonuss where is a global market in which America is a big consumer but a small supplier. We consume 20% of the world's oil, but hold only 2% reserves. In essence, and in economic parlance, we are price takers. We pay what other nations demand. We are just too small a country to matter too much. Even if domestic drilling increased, the oil would be sold to the highest bidders.

As for Democrats versus Republicans, gas was outlandish under Carter and also went up under GW Bush, though there are many formulas for coming up with gas trends.

@Graylight Under Carter is was short term. Its ended quickly though. It was nothing like Bush and now Trump is going insane with his antics. This it not good. ☺

@Zonuss Well, I will say nothing he's doing is helping anything but his ego.
