Should gun manufacturers be allowed to be sued when someone is killed with their product?

As I've said in another post, I'm not happy about the fact that gun manufacturers are immune by special federal statute from suits for foreseeable misuse, but...

The fact is, if you let juries decide the issue, the manufacturers would take some big hits, and guns would cost more.

@MistyCee So why would want gun makers to take a hit knowing this would increase the black market, putting more cheaper guns on the street?
@GunSmoke9 that's an undesirable consequence for sure, but tbh, I have issues with legislation protecting selected industries from tort law that also weigh in.
