Should gun manufacturers be allowed to be sued when someone is killed with their product?

Of course not. Someone makes a cricket bat. Someone uses said cricket bat to play cricket. Someone else steals said cricket bat and uses it to kill another person. How is the manufacturer of cricket bats financially liable for a murder committed by some one using a stolen cricket bat?
@hippyjoe1955 correct the only time it is bad is if the gun malfunctions or the bat is faulty
@Cow1919 I’m which case the person who killed can be sued and should be guilty of murder. But the sad thing is not everyone is convicted.
