Now that Toys R Us" is closing down for good, should we blame Trump too ? 🎁

Maybe. Toys R Us use to be the biggest seller of toys in the world. Now that is not the case anymore. ☺ Look, the truth is that times have changed. And we all know about how much this current generation of children are more into the latest cell phone, or tablet, more so than they are
into toys. Kids need to be mentally stimulated nowadays, and toys may be a bit bland for some of them for sure. The euphoria only lasts for a few days, and then it quickly goes unnoticed.
Corporate greed has taken over now, and if you are an underperforming business you will eventually be history. The competition is very tight now with places like Wal Mart, and Amazon. What can you do ? Should we blame Donald Trump for this loss. ☺

It sucks and it's a loss with these stores but you nailed it. They can't compete with ease of online shopping of Amazon and the like or the prices of Wal-mart and such.

Not sure kids are more mentally stimulated though. Not by smart phones and tablets anyway. Not as much as by toys.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@MethDozer It depends on the child. But a lot of kids now do not care too much for toys.
MethDozer · M
@Zonuss I'm not saying they don't, what I'm saying is it's not as mentally stimulating. You can kinda see it.

The laws/rules allowing venture capitalists to saddle the company they're buying with the loan debt they've taken on for said purchase is what kills businesses already on the edge like Toys'R Us.

Niburu · 51-55, M
@hlpflwthat it's kinda hard to innovate, experiment, etc... when you're trying to pay off 6.6 billion dollars, it would have been decades upon decades before they cleared that
hlpflwthat · M
@Niburu True enough. But PE firms are rarely able to do that sort of thing in the first place.

Don’t you know that everything that goes wrong is Trump’s fault even the things that happened before his presidency. Lol

Blame Putin, it's all the rage in the UK
@SandInMyShoes Yes. We all need a spring change. Let's blame Putin.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SandInMyShoes Are you a Toys R Us kid.
SandInMyShoes · 36-40, F
@Zonuss Nah not really
trackboy · 22-25, M
kids will not be able to enjoy their parents taking them to toys are us anymore. i loved being taken to toys are us. the local talk radio show host talks about how generations of parents took their kids to toys are us. now the next generations of kids wont be able to experience it as the money hoarders closed it down. they shut down business after business. they shut the factories and told us that we don't need factories that we all can work in retail stores and fast food stores selling stuff to each other. now they are closing the retail and fast food stores so there will be no jobs at all. the hoovervilles will keep growing and growing .
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
I wouldn't blame Trump. Wal-Mart has been kicking their butts for some time.
Crickets · 46-50, F
@Tallos40 It does! But they still can't exceed Walmarts sales.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Crazywaterspring Yes, they have. When you have a business where they have products that are just as good in quality or better and cheaper, then you will be outdone. Simple.
Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
And convenient. You want it when? That depends on what you're willing to pay.

i am so jealous, there is no toy r us here where i live. I wanna buy all the nerf guns T.T.

Yes blame everything on him. He want to take away anime the otaku should raid the white house and bum rape him with tentacles
Nymnin · 26-30, F
@Mamapolo2016 well who really is 100% against violence? I mean people claim to be "non" violence but i bet if i kick them in the genital they gonna get violent.

So technically speaking the real question would be "is there such thing as 100% against violence?" lol
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Nymnin I see.
@Nymnin Clearly not.
hlpflwthat · M
Thanks Obama.

Private Equity firms are cannibalizing their dependents sooner than I expected. Anonymous piles of money really lack innovation & creativity - and quite often even management skill.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@hlpflwthat I think the market to some degree is sabatoging the competition in order to increase ad revenue. What do you think.
hlpflwthat · M
@Zonuss I think competitors certainly ratcheted up the heat following the September re-org filing. But the debt service created & carried by the Private Equity outfits taking Toys R Us private was the anchor that drowned them.
VioletDreams · 36-40, F
no i blame the children.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@VioletDreams Explain.
VioletDreams · 36-40, F
@Zonuss
this current generation of children are more into the latest cell phone, or tablet, more so than they are into toys.
i think you explained it better :-)
no. the kids are just not interested in toys like they use to be. and they cant compete with online retail. it was more expense to shop there than else where. they have been going down hill for a long time other toys stores have already gone out of business, it was just a matter of time before they followed suit.
Crickets · 46-50, F
Did you know that only does Toys R Us own a toy store for now, but they also own the largest ambulance service across USA, and they are privately selling that as well?
Who's to blame for the ambulances, and what's the excuse?
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
Much as I detest and distrust Trump I don't think you can lay the failure of Toys r Us on him . It's down to the managements failure to adapt to the changing nature of modern retailing
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Dlrannie I agree. Glad to see you again Dlrannie ! ☺
Dlrannie · 31-35, F
@Zonuss Thanks - I've been away working in China hence not on here 🙂🎎🐼
supersnipe · 61-69, M
Toys weRe Us...Same here in the UK. They were not only competing with the online retailers but other non-specialist outlets such as supermarkets, which these days sell everything from Tiggers to TVs.
Crickets · 46-50, F
Toy R Us founder is now literally dead. He passed away today.
SW-User
You are so empathetic ..... 😌@Crickets
Crickets · 46-50, F

Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Notmesam I heard Kay Bee is making a comeback though and may buy out Toys R Us.
hlpflwthat · M
@Zonuss I've also read that the CEO of the Bratz Doll maker has pledged some $200M toward a goal of $1B to save Toys R Us
SW-User
Yep it is a wonder but like all things that end something will takes it’s place 😌
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SW-User Very true. 🙂
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
I am sure someone will find a way. It was also Trump' s fault that not everyone got to see the eclipse 🙄....silliness
MrAboo · 36-40, M
I can’t believe they’re closing
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@MrAboo Yes. This is the end of the road for traditional stores, and I think this is only the beginning.
SW-User
Yesssss! Let’s 😄😉
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SW-User 😕

Amazon has made it too easy to shop any other way for most things. Reviews, previews, user photos, deals and in-depth information.

And thanks, Obama.
trackboy · 22-25, M
@Graylight how do you touch and feel and handle the items though the computer screen??? how do you get the items to come through the screen into the house? how do you put the dollar bills through the screen to pay for it??
Graylight · 51-55, F
@trackboy Are you seriously asking me these questions?
trackboy · 22-25, M
@Graylight not sure how to do magic spells that let me reach from the real world through the screen into the computer world. i buy stuff at kmart the poor peoples stores and other stores too.
