How do you handle people on the other side that you like?

I can think of one or two people here whom I honestly like - but when they get on the subject of politics, they sound crazy (to me, anyway.) If you’re in a similar situation, how do you handle it?

I just ignore the most outrageous statements, and respond only to non-political posts.

I've been avoiding talking about politics for a while now, because there are some people I genuinely like who are on the other side of the political aisle. Occasionally I have slipped up and blurted out something, but it's been a while now.

I just ignore any political posts or comments that I see from them, just quietly shake my head and talk with them about something else. It's clear that neither of us is going to change the other's mind, so it's a waste of time and energy to debate political issues with some people. And I would really hate to lose a friendship because of it.

So I guess I handle it in much the same way you do. ☺
