I wouldn't. A one major-party country is hardly a democratic republic.
Maybe we fortify both/all parties and engage in healthy, productive and robust debate to carve out the best roads forward.

I didn’t advocate a one party system. I recommend the end of a party gone off the rails to the left to be REPLACED by a more moderate centrist party. Nice try. @Graylight

@jackjjackson No party needs to be created to accomplish that; there are plenty of centrists in either party. It's the fringes that scream the loudest.

The problem with that theory is that in practice to far left fringe is now too full. They need to be cut loose. @Graylight

There are not as many of them. I don’t advocate a one party system. Far from it. I am in favor of thr far left democrats having their own party and not forcing their agenda down the throats of more moderates. @Graylight
