Honestly, a fired-up kid already recently schooled in history and government may make a much better voter than an isolated farmer in the corn belt.

@Graylight Slightly bigoted aren't you. In case you weren't aware most farmers have college degrees and are graduates of the school of hard knocks. I would rate the average farmer's wisdom higher than 100 snot nosed school kids.

@hippyjoe1955 39% of all Americans possess a college degree. Who knew most of those people were farmers. Wow.
News flash: were all graduates of the school of hard knocks. It's called life.
No bigotry;the salient observation that some of those living insular lives tend to have a narrow agenda.

@Graylight Except school kids who are severely lacking in life experience. Witness the fanatic followers of Al Gore. You can't put an old head on young shoulders.

@hippyjoe1955 I'm not debating minutia here, exceptions to the rule.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@Graylight No you just showed your urban bigotry thinking that farmers are fit to be ignored hicks whose opinions shouldn't be counted.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@hippyjoe1955 Did I? You have no idea where I grew up, or in what kind of setting. Fact is I've lived all over this country.
Here's what I didn't say: farmers are hicks and their opinions don't count. That's some kind of sensitivity on your part.
Farmers - and anyone living far from metropolitan areas - tend to have agendas focused on their own immediate needs. That's not rocket science. Many farmers and their neighbors could not care less about regulations with Isreal; they want to know what will keep their living going.
Urban areas are not the same as rural settings. On that, you are correct.

@hippyjoe1955 Yup, and everything I've said has clarified that statement.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@Graylight Nope. Nothing is clear other than you hold farmers in disrespect. Sad but typical urbanite.

@hippyjoe1955 Again, it's so interesting you think you know where I'm from. You know, it is possible to be objective even when discussing topics that affect you personally.
