Daylight Saving Time made sense at one point in time, but it serves little purpose now. I'd rather stay on Standard Time all year long.

@Zonuss DST was originally used to save energy use by moving the day forward so there was more daylight later in the day during the summer months. Studies have shown that there is actually very little energy savings.

@windinhishair I'm not concerned with the science of it all. Just the mood and the traditions that go with this.

@Zonuss I get it. It makes less difference in the northern US than in southern states. In summer in the north, with the twilight you can still read a book outside at 10 PM, and the sun will be back up around 5 AM. Shifting the time an hour one way or another makes little difference.

@windinhishair It also coincided with harvesting and planting periods, giving kids and families more time in the fields with some time left for school.
