Why do you suppose people all over the world are risking and sacrificing so much to come to the most hated country on earth?

False hopes..
@summersun What makes you say that? The Vietnamese were gifted the shrimping business when they arrived here. People are set up with necessities and livelihoods upon entrance to this country? Why would these hopes be false?

@puck61 false hopes could mean different things. Expectations and reality gives people false hope too. Some people go to first world countries thinking there are better opportunities there, they leave their 'okay' life in the hopes to find better ones. They sell their houses because they got sold into thinking that there are better opportunities in other cou tries even if there really isnt. The existence of livelihoods in one country does not necessily guarantee better opportunities, it only means existence of opportunities. Hence, false hopes.
@summersun Fair enough. The USA is the hardest working country in the world because of the 'imported' work ethic. The Vietnamese were set up in the Shrimping industry for a good reason. It still supports the idea that getting to the United States is a good idea, and not "false hope" though.
