How do we deal with the automation problem?

Every day I am more and more pessimistic about automation. It is not even the economic consequences that worry me the most, but the psychological ones. Men is by nature a creative force. We need to transform the world around us and see the results. Since mechanization started we see those results less and feel emptier.

I think robotisation will be the last nail in the coffin. Humanity has not shot themselves on the foot, but in the stomach. Sorry if my pessimism makes you frown. Other people's optimism makes me frown too.
