Does the 2nd amendment really apply anymore?

Basically I wanna hear people from the US tell me why they feel the 2nd amendment is important considering no matter how well armed they are, their government is much better armed and could stop any force put against them.

Well your question is wrong from the start, that is my reason and it is a cause I believe in
@Jackaloftheazuresand What is wrong with the question?

I just said that is my reason, you can't preface my reason for the second amendment as being invalid as an answer
@Jackaloftheazuresand Apologies if English isn't your first language but that response makes no sense. Do you mean "no I think the 2nd amendment still applies today" or "yes the amendment doesn't apply anymore"?

@Qwerty14 "their government is much better armed and could stop any force put against them" I don't agree with that. The people could prevail, it would take specific actions but it would only succeed with the second.
@Jackaloftheazuresand I don't doubt that being in greater numbers than your government gives you an advantage but your countries' full force would wipe you out if they really meant business. No gun will save you from a nuke.

@Qwerty14 They wouldn't nuke at the beginning, that would destroy everything. It's the same thing from you people, you don't think in real tactics. You never send your full force at the start especially on your own soil which you need.
@Jackaloftheazuresand Yeah sure. The US don't need to nuke anyone to win. But you gotta admit of they ever thought they'd lose their own nation, they'd nuke. You can't win against the US government.

@Qwerty14 But by then the playing field is evened, maybe other countries have joined the rebels because they fought first and made it winnable for them, maybe they cut their losses and say fine prison is better than dying in a ball of fire. None of these things happen if the people are stopped at the fundamentals, effective weapons against infantry.

Since you have showed me you can be reasonable I'm going to ask you a question, would you rather lose that ability to fight, just give up as it were? That will truly make the people incapable of stopping it.
@Jackaloftheazuresand I don't think you ever have to worry about a US tyrannical takeover. Most countries don't arm their citizens and their People never worry. I don't see why the US needs to be different. The only thing arming the citizens has actually done to the US is cause a lot of deaths. Doesn't that concern you more than a governmental takeover?

@Qwerty14 No, that's the truth from me. I feel better knowing I can truly defend myself. I've never been someone that cares about lives but if I did I'd assure you this protects the future of millions of people.
@Jackaloftheazuresand Fair enough. I'm not here to change opinions, just listen to yours. Thanks for being honest

@Qwerty14 And thank you very much for truly listening to me, you have been the first. If I have disrespected you ever before I apologize for that now as I appreciate how you've treated me here.
