"Texas superintendent threatens 3-day suspension for students who walk out to protest gun laws" - Do you support the students or the Superintendent?

“A school is a place to learn and grow educationally, emotionally and morally. A disruption of the school will not be tolerated.”

"Walkouts have been reported in various states, including Florida, Colorado, Minnesota and Illinois, where some school administrators said they were instructed to allow students to walk out peacefully, while others, like those in the eastern Texas city of Needville, said they had a zero tolerance policy toward such demonstrations."

Students all day, all night, all of the time.... America is totally bonkers. Even now... even after so many people's children have been killed by the common availability of guns.... they are so selfish as to not be able to bring themselves to make guns illegal. It's absolutely unreal
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@sarahcupcake Is it selfish when they do it to save the entire country instead?
sarahcupcake · 36-40, F
So let's just analyse that for a moment.... allowing everyone in America to have guns saves the entire country... I think that's what you said isn't it? @Jackaloftheazuresand
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@sarahcupcake No, when you make guns illegal then you remove any chance the people have against soldiers and then you make it easier to get what happens in North Korea.
sarahcupcake · 36-40, F
I understand now ... you are want people to have guns so that they can shoot the soldiers in the America forces. @Jackaloftheazuresand
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@sarahcupcake Should they be used against the people
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@sarahcupcake If you are really advocating Americans make guns illegal will you enjoy watching and cheer on the police and military fighting it out with several million gun owners who will refuse? Have you actually thought out what you advocate or just virtue signaling?
TexChik · F
@sarahcupcake oh please .. the truth is completely different than what CNN tells you. When law enforcement completely ignores a budding psychopath for months prior to the shooting ..,bad things are going to happen .
sarahcupcake · 36-40, F
I'm sorry Abrienda.... but the claim that "to do the right thing is too hard or too difficult and therefore we can't do it" is not one to which I subscribe. You will not perhaps remember but there were a lot of people in America who wanted to keep slavery some time ago. That too was wrong and fortunately brave and courageous americans stuck up for doing the right thing even in the face of adversity @Abrienda
sarahcupcake · 36-40, F
I'm going to ignore your reference to the truth and CNN because I don't really understand your point there. I agree of course with the idea that America should assess people before they give them guns. I also agree that if you give people who have mental issues guns, it can only but increase the chances of bad things happening @TexChik
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@sarahcupcake Sure. The destruction of half the country and 500,000 killed ...that was the result of the American Civil War. If only a minority of Americans who own guns resisted you could have at least a million deaths. But sure why not? Nothing is too hard or difficult to achieve Utopia. Stalin and Pol Pot saw it the way you do.
Fernie · F
@sarahcupcake makes guns illegal? That's not what reasonable people want...to disarm the American citizens...we want more control over which guns are available...serious background checks...TRAINING... not to make all guns illegal
sarahcupcake · 36-40, F
Well Fernie you say that and I'd love to believe it. I was also told that your country was a democracy. So....if everyone wanted what you say, Fernie, then I am sure they can get it. If they really really wanted it, then they could come out on the streets and get it. But so far they haven't. And in the meantime the shooting in schools appears to go on @Fernie
sarahcupcake · 36-40, F
I'm going to end this discussion with you Abrienda because I sense we're never going to achieve anything, but thank you for talking with me. @Abrienda
Fernie · F
@sarahcupcake I never said "everyone" and frankly...since you are not in this country...I'm not going to engage in any more talk with you about this. You clearly have a very distorted view of the whole subject
TexChik · F
@Abrienda the second amendment can’t be changed without a consensus of the states . No matter the whines of the indoctrinated and the uninformed ... the second amendment and therefore all our rights and freedoms , will endure
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@TexChik That was my point. It isn't a protest its a chance to hangout. It is meaningless. But considering the "adults" here who agree with this stupidity your country is in bigger trouble than I thought.
TexChik · F
@Abrienda given that CNN has scripted this entire scenario after the fact and that law enforcement was on the scene during the shooting and didn’t act ... nor did they act in the months prior to the shooting ...making the tragedy inevitable
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@sarahcupcake Guns can't be made illegal in the USA; it's the Constitution.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@TexChik Why are Americans NOT asking how the local police could visit Cruz 39 times and the FBI notified twice without effect YET are happy to let the same government which shows it was incapable of dealing with ONE 19 YEAR OLD MANIC and a school that hired a "security guard" who did not even go into the building during the shooting have total control over all lethal weapons?
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@greenmountaingal And would result in Second Civil War and millions of deaths. But that of course has never stopped totalitarian personality types before so she'd probably be all for it.
