Solar Plus Batteries Beat Out Natural Gas In Two US Electricity Markets

https://cleantechnica.com/2018/02/15/solar-plus-batteries-beat-natural-gas-two-us-electricity-markets/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+IM-cleantechnica+%28CleanTechnica%29

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Donald Trump Cannot Save Coal. Competition from Other sources of Energy is what did the Coal Industry in. Natural Gas is cheaper than coal. It cannot compete anymore. Automation took many Coal mining jobs as well. Donald Trump cannot turn back the tide of innovation and the market. Solar Is getting Cheaper and cheaper and it will only continue to do so. By 2020 it's estimated to be the cheapest source of energy. Solar plus batteries is beating Natural Gas in two markets in terms of price in the us and that will help finance innovation to make Solar even cheaper.

The energy transition is huge news. The History of Coal mining is Rich. The Ludlow Massacare. The Coal mining unions. The Whole thing. I took for granted how big of a deal it was.

The Displacement caused by the transition is going to be a Huge fucking deal. politicians need to stop selling Coal Miners and their families false hope and tell the truth that the future of the Industry is bleak.

This will only accelerate over time. Solar only accounts for a tiny fraction of the grid and manufacturing hubs but the economies of scale will continue to grow. More manufacturing. Cheaper panels. it has tons of room to grow. and the more it does the more research and development will get funded to make it even cheaper and the more manufacturers will open.

Trump was told about this by big oil and gas companies, so he did what they told him to do and put a 30% duty on solar panels to protect companies that get huge government subsidies even though green energy provides more jobs
