You don't choose the stars and stripes, but a flag which represents a long-dead rebel state which fought to defend slavery.

@Burnley123 Is the LGBT flag nationalist then? and no one celebrate slavery maybe some African country's still do but not in the west. and more slaves were under the stars and stripes than ever under the confederacy. You are aware flags have evolve and have different meaning over time. and at that time there were quite a few issues with boiled over in america like how the north was taxing the shit out of the south at a very unfair amount. The confederate flag today has a different meaning than in the past so fly it to represent there family who fought or they are a rebel spirit. The rebel spirit in the south is not dead and what you call black and white is not so simple.

The American Civil War was fought over different issues but the main one was slavery. At Charlotteville, far right protesters used that flag and stood next to people with flags of Swastikas. Now I am not saying that you are a Nazi but you are using a symbol which NAZISs also use and to them it not about the North taxing the South.

@Burnley123 They were not nazis they died in 1945 they might have been neo nazis. Nazis also used the christen cross and many other symbols like how in India thee is swastikas in places but they are not Nazis. Slavery was a factor yes but taxes were also a issue as the north was exploiting the south and
property rights were also a big issue the south faced. Only the top 1% could afford slaves its not like everyone owned slaves. The Confederate flag was never the official flag it was the battle flag

@Burnley123 well a Nazi is National Socialist German Workers' Party Now a fascist sure. A Nazi is a brand of fascism so they can be fascist or neo nazi which is a different thing that just a nazi as when the goverment fell in 1945 the party died as well so you get x nazis.
