Should the top 1% pay more?

In 2016 the wealth of the 1% of the world will exceed all of humanity.

Remember this when the Republicans say the 1% pay 80% of the taxes, Do the math, they have 99% of the money, shouldn't they pay 99% of the taxes? 馃

And all that really boils down to is it the rich pay more in taxes than everyone else. Of course they should they have more money than everyone else but it doesn't help anyone to tax the rich in the poverty. The rich are already paying plenty of taxes and the rich are the ones that create jobs.

@Davidarendale0 You do know there's a very, very good chance that the richest pay LESS of a percentage than you pay in tax, right? I'm sure you also know that there is no evidence that when the very, very richest pay less that money gets to citizens in the forms of jobs and wages, right? Or that when the middle class boomed the very, very richest were paying at a roughly 90% personal income tax rate?
The people with the money are controlling the system so they see more and you see less. Full stop. If you're cool with that...fine. If you're not then you might want to dig a little deeper in to the facts of what's happening.

I know that with the new tax plan I'm going to be paying less in Taxes and believe me I am not rich by any measure. I also know that since the tax plan went through over 200 companies have announced bonuses for their employees. That's direct evidence that a good chunk of that money is going to the middle class. Lower taxes help everybody. Especially lowering the corporate rate. corporations don't pay taxes they viewed taxes as an operating expense and roll it into the cost of whatever goods or services they provide. All corporate taxes have ever done is increase the cost of goods and services at the consumer level.

@Davidarendale0 I'm not going to argue with you. Nothing personal but you're repeating talking points that have been systematically fed to people by those who are making the rules. Lower taxes does NOT help everybody. Poorer people won't see anything at all from this. 1 in 5 middle class people will pay more. Services that help the poor will be cut. Companies giving bonuses? You might want to look in to that a bit more. As an example. Yeah...Walmart is giving bonuses. They're also closing Sam's Clubs, firing managers and giving away peanuts when compared to what they're keeping.
The FACT is that the richest 1% receive 48% of the benefits of the tax plan. The non-partisan Tax Policy Center came up with that. That's what this tax plan is all about. Adding to the deficit in such an enormous way? The GOP wasn't on board with that in the old days. It's just fine now though. There's a reason for that.

So do the cuts for the higher brackets. And I guess no one is going to make any money in the ten years before that happens.

@Davidarendale0 jobs are not created by rich people. jobs are created by consumer demand which is caused by a booming middle class. we have no middle class anymore. we have the very rich and then differing degrees of poverty. we become like a third world country every day. yes, we are in better shape on the outside but that is just appearance, on the inside, we are crumbling. rich people won't create jobs if people are too poor to buy their products. no one will make products no one buys. so NO rich people do not create a single job. and when there is no consumer demand rich people start closing shops factories and businesses. they start laying people off. that causes a recession. there may be a low employment rate but john q. public isn't booming.
