Why is President Trump so unpopular ?

President Donald Trump is the most unpopular president , and it's not even a close fight.

Presidents generally have had an average approval rating of 53 percent since 1938 to 2018, according to historical comparisons compiled this week by Gallup. But Trump's approval rating dropped to 37 percent this week, down from 39 percent in December.

Trump is the least popular president in modern history, according to FiveThirtyEight. "Trump’s early-term unpopularity is unusual. In the decades since World War II, the average first-term president before Trump had an approval rating of 62 percent on his 175th day in office," the site wrote in July, when Trump's approval rating was 39 percent.

I think it's simply a statement of how polarized politics is today.

I suspect that if he walked on water, someone would complain that his feet were dirty and he polluted the water.

@NCCindy If he walked on water, he would be pulling his most impressive con to date.

Your response does not address the topic.

You’re right. Your answer is extremely relevant inasmuch as the reason for those numbers is the sore loser bad sport treasonous crying by the Dems and media. @NCCindy

@jackjjackson 'sore loser bad sport treasonous crying' ..... that's almost Trumpian. 🙃
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
It simply the truth. @RodionRomanovitch

@jackjjackson You might want to talk to the Administrator. Someone with your screenname was just saying this morning that he/she hadn't engaged in name calling since before Thanksgiving. Obviously that wouldn't be you, since you characterize Dems by their loser bad sport treasonous crying, in classic trumpian fashion.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Whoever that imposter was simply used some highly applicable adjectives in perfect context. @windinhishair
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@jackjjackson Got it. So even name calling is in the eyes of the trumpian beholder. 😉

Just so we know, which one was the imposter--the one from this morning or the one about an hour ago?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
How does a fellow like you describe attempting to pretend the election didn’t occur? Do you think your being in denial about reality changes anyhting? @windinhishair
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@jackjjackson The election most certainly occurred, and the electorate chose an unfit and ill-prepared leader through an archaic system. It really is that simple. The majority of the country knows that and agrees, as does the rest of the world. You appear to be the one in denial.

@windinhishair I had to block that jackjackson character, couldn't take it anymore, but I like what you've been saying!
jackson55 · M
@NCCindy He could come up with the cure for cancer and the Libs would still call him a asshole.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@jackson55 In that case, he would be an asshole that came up with a cure for cancer. However, since he doesn't believe in science, it is more likely he'll continue to be just an asshole.

The topic was why Trump is unpopular in the polls. These numbers did not come from CNN, they came from Gallup, so you can't say they're fake news, and you can't say that this is the agency that predicted Hillary would win. I've already covered this here before, and Gallup specifically stayed clear of election predictions.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Hmmm. You seem to forget that the people Gallup presumably interviews for poll results based on questions that imply directly the topic but don’t ask about the topic specifically at least in some cases get the information from which they form their opinions somewhere so I will still say that nccindy is on topic. @Northwest
Blithe · 31-35, F
@NCCindy trump walking on water... You might want to reconsider a more coherent analogy. 🙄
@Blithe He 'is' figuratively walking on water considering the terrific work he has done in spite of virulent opposition.
Blithe · 31-35, F
@puck61 Wow! You people are as delusional as your demented idol.
@Blithe Trump is doing great. Do you have a problem with record market growth. Record retirement portfolios. Record black unemployment, and economic health in general? Do you have a problem with 40 hour work weeks, increased wages and bonuses? Do you have a problem with business popping up in all the empty strip malls? Do you have a problem with success? Do you have a problem with MS13 and ISIS on the run? Do you have a problem with illegals and undesirables NOT being allowed free access to funds intended for American people? What exactly do you have a problem with?
Blithe · 31-35, F
@puck61 trump inherited an economy that the Obama administration created while bailing out the financial fiasco that the Republican Party created prior to him taking office, and having to work through a well planned and centrally financed obstructionist party, again the Republicans! Remind me who killed Osama? " Illegals and undesirables"????? Just a reminder that being in the country without documentation is only a CIVIL infraction like a parking ticket. A “criminal” is someone who violates the PENAL code. I once parked in a red zone. I, too, am an “illegal", you racist POS!
@Blithe "Racist" the sanctuary of hypocrites. Please become legal.
Blithe · 31-35, F
@puck61 Please get sober.
@Blithe NO. Obama's stagnation had nothing to do with Trump's stimulation. Obama was / is a Hollywood huckster POS, and you are all bamboozled . Reality conflicts with your narrative.
Blithe · 31-35, F
@puck61 LMAO!!!! 😂
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@puck61 Bush's stock market went below 7000 due to market abuses allowed by his Administration. When Obama left office, it was just shy of 20,000. You just touted trump's stock market. If you are intellectually honest, you'll admit that the stock market almost tripled under Obama. That's pure and simple fact. It has continued to go up under trump. That's true too. I'll take a tripling of the market as stagnation any day.
@Blithe "Please get sober." Wow! You're good, a non sequitor and ad hominem in three words. Only the best confused people can do that! Why don't you try to get on the right side of history and stop embarrassing yourself.
