NOW How Many Idiots Will Call Pres.Trump Anti-Semtic?

A nation has the right to declare any city it wishes in its territory to be its capital. Does anyone NOT know Jerusalem is the ancient capital of the Jewish people? Pres. Trump does and has done the right thing...AGAIN...and announced he has begin the process of relocating your embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

The embassy of the great United States will now be in the TRUE capital of Israel, JERUSALEM, where it belongs. As for those of you who are Bible-believing Christians who still say they "hate Trump", read Genesis 12:1-3. Then consider THIS picture of the person whom he defeated ... smiling with the child-killer Arafat.

(Postscript. As a viewer abroad, I was long under the impression the anti-Trump people were REALLY stupid and not in possession of even simple facts. This posting proves I was right. Anti-Trump cretins, I will type this slowly so you can understand...

1)Jerusalem has been Israel's official capital since 1950. That is a fact.

2)Pres. Trump is not forcing HIS policies or AMERICAN policy on anyone only respecting the rights of a sovereign nation to decide where its capital shall be.

3)It was Pres. Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama who were IMPOSING AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY by not respecting another nation's right to choose its capital.

4)So it is Pres. Trump who is finally showing RESPECT to the self-determination of another country, UNLIKE TEN PREVIOUS American presidents. You got that now?

It's not about anti-Semitism, it's not about the "American" proclamation of the righteousness of other parts of the world, and it's not a good time to escalate tensions when there's no need to take an official political stance like this either way.

Said the Pope (one of those Christians of whom you speak):

“Jerusalem is a unique city, sacred to Jews, Christians and Muslims, where the Holy Places for the respective religions are venerated, and it has a special vocation to peace,” he said.

In especially strong language, the pope added, “I pray to the Lord that such identity be preserved and strengthened for the benefit of the Holy Land, the Middle East and the entire world, and that wisdom and prudence prevail, to avoid adding new elements of tension in a world already shaken and scarred by many cruel conflicts.”

@Graylight It may surprise you that not all Christians follow the proclamations of the "pope". Moreover he is only infallible on matters of Catholic Church policy and even then not 100 percent so. Sorry but his musings do not "trump" the Bible.

Finally...I think I will take the eternal word of God as revealed word in Genesis rather than that of a temporary political appointee.

@Abrienda Yes, I know he's the leader of the Roman Catholic church and not all of Christendom. And I wasn't speaking to his infallibility at all.

You may be surprised to realize the Bible is simply a book cobbled together over hundreds of years by man. A good book, a history book, a glimpse into man's relationship with God, but hardly a worldwide sacred and infallible text. In fact, much of it was written with a political and cultural bent.

The point was not which source is best. The point is that this historical place of peace and accord does not need "America First" shoved down its throat until the tensions cause unretractable and inevitable warring.

@Graylight What are you talking about?

DOES a sovereign nation have the right to name its own capital? Yes or no? Every American president since 1950 has been so arrogant and "America First" in their world view that they "decided" what Israel's capital was. How then is Trump accepting what ISRAEL says was its capital 66 years before he became president "shoving America First" down someone's throat? Why are YOU so "America First" that you think everything that happens in the world has to do first and foremost with the United States?

YOU quoted the "pope". I replied his comments are irrelevant to most Christians nor the Bible and is not even Catholic doctrine. Sorry I made you look silly over it.

@Abrienda Frist, Catholics comprise almost half of all Christians worldwide (http://www.pewforum.org/2013/02/13/the-global-catholic-population/).

Secondly, I'm not calling Trump out but the American tendency toward over-involvement in world politics and ideologies. And as for whether the US endorsement of Jerusalem is the focus of the latest story, you either don't understand world politics or you're tunnel-visioned to make some fuzzy point here.

And are you implying the Bible doesn't dictate Catholic doctrine? Because that would be idiotic. Certainly suggesting you know what is and is not important to world Christians as a group is grandiose thinking.
