What are Trump supporters listening to?

Why do Trump supporters respond to criticism of Alec Baldwins stunt double, not by refuting the criticism, but by pointing at the opposition (usually Hilary) and showing her faults (God knows she has a few) or by attacking the critic, with tags like "Libtard"?
I get that the system was broken and needs to be changed. But maybe we can address the quality of the guy who got the job, even if it was by default, instead of the old magicians, "Look over there" trick..

Whataboutism, just another form of deflection.

@LyricalOne Yes.. And it can all be valid.. Maybe he was the least worst option. I wont judge that. But none of his people will address those questions and it only makes them look like they don't have an answer.

@whowasthatmaskedman As the months drag on, it seems apparent that there is no good answer. Don't think a lot of his supporters realized just what/who they were signing on for. This is a period of time in which a collective fever seems to have gripped a large portion of the nation and I truly hope it breaks soon. Because to be left in this state of moral bankruptcy would be heartbreaking.

i will take the hit...they are stupid...

@SW-UserYou may be right. But neither side has a monopoly on dumb.. And he was promising something different as opposed to "business as usual" which we all know was not working. All I ask is for the people who support him to address directly the criticisms aimed at him.

They’re listening to him and just copying his speaking tactics of manipulation. Whataboutisms and trolling specifically, with regards to your examples.
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@Bean17Yes.. But they voted for him.. They have some sort of obligation to answer his critics, or admit they were wrong. (Oh God!! I just realised where I went wrong)😱

Yeah neither he, nor they, work like that. Sadly.😬@whowasthatmaskedman

Sadly I think you're asking for the proverbial moon

@SW-UserMaybe. I have my own views in the guy, dating from his business practices. But the job he has now (for better or worse) is running a major national government with a place on the world stage. And I think his electors should be able to support his actions with some rational argument.

@whowasthatmaskedman Not going to happen

Everyone uses logical fallacies in all aspects of politics, and the sheeple eat it up.
