By what conceivable measure (to any progressive) could Bernie be worse than Trump?

@Burnley123 I'm not a progressive. I'm a moderate just like all grown-ups.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@RockNRollGirl I thought the official term was bootlicker?
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@RockNRollGirl Grownups who troll for reaction on a political forum or the other kind of grownups? 😜

@CoxswainOtter lol. It's a good job that the centre is always right about everything and that nothing ever ever needs to change.

@CoxswainOtter Centrism assumes a false middle ground. More often than not, centrists are fence sitters.

@CoxswainOtter how is it a lie? False middle is a logical fallacy. The middle ground between two things is not always the right option.

@CoxswainOtter You are kind of making a case for Burkean Conservatism there.
The 'centre ground' is not always the middle of public opinion. To give one example; about half of Americans support single payer healthcare.
The centre changes over time and is different in different countries. The biggest thing you can do in politics (according to my view) is to shift the Overton window.
Basil is right, its a logical fallacy to say that middle between two points of view is right. Define a position by values, logic and likely consequence of action.

@CoxswainOtter not a liberal. Liberals believe in capitalism and the state. Try again.

@CoxswainOtter I am on the left and don't seem to contact anyone. The point is to persuade. I agree with allowing different schools of thought and allowing them to speak does not mean that I have to agree with them. Your definition of left and right is reductive anyway. There is a wide range of opinions that don't agree with the 'centre'.

@CoxswainOtter who is the liberal here? You're more a liberal than I am.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@CoxswainOtter So a centrist has no ideology or ideas? Is it not that you have ideology and ideas (which support the current political consensus and existing power structures) but you don't see it?
I thought you were a libertarian anyway?

@CoxswainOtter false. Your ideology still calls for hierarchy and a state with a monopoly on violence. There is no liberty when people starve yet cannot feed themselves because everything is government or private property.
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@CoxswainOtter Ah. You are trolling too lol.

@CoxswainOtter Libertarian was first coined by Dejacque, he was an Anarcho-Communist. Murray Rothbard stole the term for the right in the US. You are no Libertarian.
