Is violence ever defensible in politics.

I think it can be as long as two provisions are met:

1) There is no viable alternative strategy.
2) The recipients are themselves violent.

I just don't think pacifism can work unless there is a peaceful democratic route to change.

It鈥檚 always puzzled me when right-wingers have told me over my relatively long life, that my heroes should be the ones who espouse non-violence, when none of their heroes do. 馃

@bijouxbroussard Absolutely. This is a difficult issue for the left because it runs against our instincts. What do you do when you come up against violent power structures though?
