Was Kennedy assassinated because he signed an order to shut down the Federal Reserve?

...And reform the dollar to be backed by precious metals again, or was it something else? I’d didn’t live then so I don’t know if he was particularly controversial or widely hated.

Actually, after reading that executive order, I find that it doesn't do that. It delegates a power of the presidency to the secretary of the treasury, but otherwise has no specific effect.

@Xuan12 In fact, in '63 Kennedy asked congress to phase out silver certificates in favor of federal reserve notes, so that the metal could be used for industrial purposes rather than as currency. If anything, this action increases the federal reserves power.
