Capitulation
Riot officers with batons and shields
Tear gas
Active denial systems
Rubber bullets
Other 'less lethal' munitions
Actual bullets

@Lochlee Yeah, there have been a fair few examples of live ammo being used on rioters in modern history. Some very recent. I wouldn't ever say it's a good thing, but it does certainly put down the riot.
