When someone insists on using childish name calling in a political discussion do you find it undermines your ability to take them seriously?

To be specific, i'm talking about people who feel the need to say things like libtard, hitllery and obozo.
Do you not get how ridiculous that makes you sound to another adult?

I'd list some things liberals say but i just don't hear those often enough for me to remember them off hand.

Yikes! I'm guilty of that! The problem is nowhere else do I say 'trumproaches' other than here! And never before 2016 have I been intolerant. I don't know what is wrong with me...sigh..

@WalksWith We are in desperate times unlike any in modern history. I don't think many of us ever expected things would have digressed to such a low point. We all reach our breaking points. I do not judge you in this arena.

@Byron8by7 Thank you! When I first got here (in July) I tried, I honestly did, but I couldn't keep up with their circular logic. I gave up on them and that's that!

@WalksWith I saw where it was referred to as "illogic." Almost everything they say is based on beliefs, not facts. They are unable to function when confronted with the truth.

@Byron8by7 Tell me about it! After the Las Vegas shooting, there was a thread about guns, I have a personal thing with them, and I went off on a rant, got called out for it, apologized for ranting, then this person came out of the blue and called me a bitch with 'nerdy comebacks'! To my apology! All I could do was laugh, I mean, really?

@WalksWith I am careful about where, how, and with whom I comment here. For the most part, I tend to exchange replies with like minded people rather than those with views drastically different from mine. I have found that even trying to offer my point of view, let alone change someone's mind, is an exercise in futility.
