I think men should be free of the responsibility for a child they don't want.

In the event of an unplanned pregnancy a man cannot force a woman to get an abortion nor can he force her to carry the pregnancy to term.

Essentially he has no choice even though he is exactly as responsible for the pregnancy as the woman.

So to give men a little more say in the matter, i think that if he doesn't want to keep the baby and the woman does, he should be allowed to forfeit all rights to and responsibility for the child.

No!
I mean if he doesn't want to be present in the baby's life well then so be it but he has a duty to at least pitch in with money.

I don't understand how a person can be aware that out there there is a part of him and not want to be around that person..I just don't get it. Its YOUR child..your FLESH and BLOOD how can you wave that off and ignore it like its not existing.

You think its fare that both the man and woman did the deed and only the woman has to take full responsibility for it.

HELL TO THE NO.

She's not dictating his life by asking for child support..he knew or at least he should of known like HER that there is always a risk of pregnancy!

Not exactly by the same toke cause one will abort and suffer the consequences later or not abort and face the struggle of single parent hood. (And I think there shouldn't be an option here unless its a life threatening situation but that's a whole other discussion)

A man can help with money and (if he chose) not be in the child life or Literately do nothing. Not exactly the same thing is it?

@Celine I'd say he has a responsibility for his choice to have sex with her. Look, some things are just not "fair". For example, it's not fair that women are the ones who bear the children and doing that interferes with their careers, slowing it down so to speak. But it's just a fact that if you choose to be off for whatever reason, you must suffer the consequences. Same thing here. If you put it where it can make a baby you have a responsibility to help support it even if you do not choose to be a father to it. It's called.....life.
