I'm sorry, if a man has helped create a human being he has a responsibility to take care of something he helped create. Even though they are financially responsible (through child support) most men still choose to not be part of a child's life anyway so essentially what you are saying exists anyway. Ethically, we need more dads in the world and not sperm donors.

@Celine well, the woman is carrying the child. I'm sure there are different circumstances to issue that choice to abort (ie: rape, incest) but in the common scenario carrying a child is a hard thing for a woman to take. But essentially, its her body and that choice will have to be with her. Society wise, its always been that way and its probably because maybe the man doesn't know...doesn't care...or its a seedy one night stand...I don't know. But why should all the responsibility be on the woman? and financially? if a woman can't afford to take care of the child? who actually ends up paying for the care?
But if you are going to make adult decisions, I think both parties should be adult enough to take care of a child. Your line of thinking is dangerous because any guy can be like "oh wow, I didn't get to decide if she wanted to keep this child or not......soooo I'm outta here"

@Celine well why should a man get away with it? He helped make that decision in her life by injecting his sperm into her egg.
She gets to dictate because its her body, I'm sure if we had the technology where we can just make a man carry a child it would happen.
I'm not saying one party should be more responsible than the other. BOTH need to be held accountable if the child is born.
So legally, do you think a man should not owe child support if the woman decides to carry the child to full term? and the father skips out?

@Celine Financially both people need to be responsible. In essence if the guy gets off scott free from his obligations it creates a burden on the woman. Then how many men are going to be like "yep, we screwed...better get an abortion..wait you are not getting an abortion?...guess I'm outta here" ... and I guess the man does have a say if he kept his condom on.

@Celine Ok, but lets face it...how realistic would it be to implement that equality of choice? just not possible and then once you get the government involved it becomes viewed as a fascist something.
I don't create society rules, but I do understand how they are. I just feel your line of thinking is deeply flawed in the sense that just because a man doesn't have the right to tell a woman to get an abortion he should be totally free of any responsibility or obligation to take care of a human being even though he totally understands how biology works. Yes, there are women out there who purposely get pregnant to trap a man into a financial obligation. Additionally, what about those married couples who have children and get divorced? Should the man be like "welp, back in 2007 I told her to get an abortion and she didn't so I shouldn't have to support my son anymore...later!"

@Celine so why would a man take any responsibility at any time? It creates a society that its ok to spread your seed around and feel you have no consequence

@Celine if its already bleak..how would the mindset of "welp, you don't have to take care of this" be helpful in any regard? We already have too many fatherless children in society we certainly don't need to encourage the behavior any further.

@Celine I'm simply stating that there are ways a man could prevent pregnancy to begin with, if he is not aware of the risk of pregnancy...he is an idiot.
Why should the man have a choice on whether he wants to be responsible or not? That seems kinda biased in my opinion and what if he wants to be a father and she doesn't? Is she going to be forced to carry a child she really doesn't want to have?
It all seems really biased to give a man a choice whether or not he wants to be a grown-up and take care of something he helped create. Most women don't even have that choice in this world

@Celine
It takes two to tango...so both parties need to be responsible.
its not biased because its her body that has to go through all those changes. It would only make it worse if a man's decision would force a woman to carry a child.
By letting a man make these decisions over your body, is creating a dangerous atmosphere.
If he doesn't want to be a father and is aware that sex can lead to pregnancy....then yea...its preventable. If she doesn't want to be a mother and knows the guy she's sleeping with is a complete asshole....yea...its preventable.
I still think if he helped create a human life he still needs to be financially responsible for it whether he wanted her to have an abortion or not. Additionally, everyone knows the right thing to do is to be a dad and not just a sperm donor.
The woman still gets to decide whether or not she wants the baby. How is it biased for the man to be allowed to decide whether or not he wants to be involved?
