Can y'all just stop being so weird about feminism?

Why do so many men (and some women) have such an issue with feminism?
What problem do you have with equal opportunities?

It isn't the 'equal opportunity' aspect of feminism that get's people going. It's the frickin Yettis!

@puck61 they want equal outcome while they should stop at equal opportunity
SW-User
@popmol How, exactly, are they exceeding equal opportunity?

@SW-User firing men to get more woman. a white man is severely disadvantaged. certainly in america where you can get special treatment as a woman or as a minority.

@popmol In 2001, women made up 47% of the entire US workforce, according to the BLS. In 2012, women held 14.3 percent of all executive positions and 16.6 percent of all board positions. 22% were CEO's of said companies.

While anyone can be terminated for any reason in a work-for-hire state, it's illegal to fire a man simply to hire a woman. White men run this country. As soon as someone else takes over the zoo, you can complain about being oppressed.

And let's not forget that women still only make 77 cents on the dollar for equivalent work.
@SW-User The income inequality is an easily rebutted fallacy. I don't even know why people go there anymore!
The stats are easily explained by the traditional roles that are assumed by the female gender. There is absolutely nothing wrong with traditional gender roles! Hmmmmm!
I think I'll heat me up a couple of traditional gender rolls for breakfast! They're awesome with honey butter!

@puck61 The amount of the disparity is contended, not its existence.
@SW-User It doesn't exist. Please list an on the books business that pays females less than males for the same position. Just one.

@SW-User theres currently in some jobs already or companies that you need 50/50 so they kick out men so theres a 50/50

It's really not hard to find examples.

@popmol Again, firing men simply for being men is illegal.
@SW-User Speculation and accusation doesn't count. I said show me a company that pays women less than men for the same position. You won't find one because it is against the law.
SW-User
@puck61 Court decisions, lawsuit victories and bookkeeping records are not speculation.
SW-User
@puck61 In the 9th circuit, a three-judge panel unanimously ruled that paying people based on their previous salaries does not violate equal pay laws, even if that results in a woman being paid less for the same job because she made less in her previous job. It's not against the law.

But because you asked and choose not to do research yourself: Citicorp North America, a subsidiary of Citibank, was found guilty of paying a woman 60% of her previous male counterpart for promotion of the Tampa Bay area; a specific position.
@SW-User Great. I'm glad to see that people who break the law are prosecuted! It's still a wind mill, there is no actual equal pay problem to speak of in the United States. It's a non issue. Hopefully companies stupid enough to break the law will continue to be prosecuted.

@SW-User wait did they work for the same amount, same degrees and other things?
