equal opportunities is okay. but the problem is feminist nowadays (the loud people that hate men currently) want equal outcome. if you give the chance to both men and woman in a job interview the best will go through its all men that means the men were better if its all women the woman were better. but with all the new rules like you need equal woman and men in some jobs already what is wrong. and things like affirmative action, that give jobs to blacks and other colours or special things that specially give job to woman just for being a woman

@CopperCicada they seem to be more in America. they are often with groups like antifa and black lives matter and things alike. its the ones that call everyone a racist if you say something to hurt their feelings.

@CaptainCanadia thats dumb. we weren't part of that. these people didn't have anyhting to do with it? or should i ask all Romans Spaniards and Dutch and English to give me reparations becasue my ancestors that lived in belgium were always getting taken over by other countries? the past laws have changed so they get an EQUAL chance if they are then not as good as the other people who applied as well, in this case men then try to do a better job next time

@popmol That line of argument makes no sense. Reparations aren't part of this discussion. What I'm saying is that hiring has NEVER been just about who is the "best" for the job - there are always politics involved.
Like, this rule is about on-screen roles for the BBC. So it means they write more parts for women. Previously they wrote more parts for men, which kept women off screen. Women fund the BBC as much as men and deserve to see more women on screen. I don't see how this is a problem.

@CaptainCanadia it definitely is. you say guys should be punished now that we are equal (in the west) becasue in the past the same gender the same color of people or the same religion did something to the people that came before you? its an example of another kind of punishment.
and yeah its true, but you also overestimate the politics, like it might be easier to get in if you know someone in the company but if there's a guy who can increase sales by 50% and he only ask 5 k euro a month and 50% is maybe 250k a year. and then you have that guys friend and he might increase the profit with 10% and he asks the same or more. they will not hire the friend.

This is how feminism plays out in my life.
I hate the fact that I have to be worried about the safety of women in my life. That my wife can't go hiking alone. That I feel compelled to walk out of my way to make sure a woman gets in her car or in her apartment. That a friend of mine was raped preparing for the hurricane.
I hate looking out a classroom and seeing nothing but men. I hate that in the lab, men ask men tech questions and men ask women about their cats or families. I hate that I have had to come down on men in my lab-- [i]Keep your hands off your female lab mates. They are sick of your shit and are here to do science.

I hate hiring a woman in my business and having some prick say, [i]offer her X$, she'll take it because she's desperate[/i]-- damn well knowing man would offered more. Or people freaking out about the prospect of hiring a woman. [i]Will she get married? Bake pies? Have kids? [/i]No matter that some of my male colleagues check out for weeks when certain fish run in the gulf or the straight. Somehow Madame Curie did science and shit while having a period and whatever.
I have having to be the "obligatory penis". Having to go with a woman in my life to a meeting because the men won't take them seriously. Sometimes just stand there and look pissed off. Or be that guy who says [i]answer the woman's damned questions[/i].
