What will happen? most of Florida is less than 12 feet above sea level and a 12 foot storm surge is coming?

Much of Florida has an elevation of less than 12 feet (3.7 m), including many populated areas such as Miami which are located on the coast. Miami and other parts of south Florida are the most vulnerable regions in the world to rising sea levels associated with climate change.

Yup. If we get a heavy rain, we flood temporarily, even inland. Miami will have a lot of water to contend with, but they've learned many lessons from Andrew, so we're interested to see how they hold up.

When you live in a precarious area, you simply have to expect complications due to weather. That's the trade-off for gorgeous ocean water and mild winters.
