@Abrienda The point is that politicians switch parties and take their ideals with them. Throughout history it has happened in droves. Before FDR came along the Democratic Party was the party of conservatism...he pretty much shattered that with the New Deal. People changed sides. Go read up a bit on U.S political platform shifts.
