I don't think Trump is a bigot its just he has never run an election campaign before and so he is campaigning on populist issues like Islamic terror which make him sound like a bigot.

You don't do as well as he has if you are bigoted because then you alienate yourself he just doesn't know the first thing about political campaigning because in business people come to you because they know what your offering but in politics you need to convince people your the best man for the job and to do that you need to campaign which is not easy if you never done it before
