@jackson55 Bill Clinton was acquitted in the Senate on the more serious charges, and the Senate had a 55-45 Republican majority, so his impeachment, and the attempt to remove him from office failed.
As it turned out, the guy leading the charge against him, had carried on a multi-year affair of his own, while married. The Idaho congresswoman, who was also part of the GOP anti-Clinton brigade, had her own affair with a married man, but it was OK, because, at the time, she was not in Congress, AND she apologized to God for her mistakes, and let's not forget Senator Gordon, the third leg of that tripod, who lectured against moral decay, while fathering a child with one of his staffers, and who ended up marrying his wife's doctor, right after his wife died of cancer.
