I believe that John McCain will be remembered as the Man that stopped the second coming of McCarthyism, do you?

The man, is fighting terminal cancer... and he stood up to immense pressure to cast a vote in the face of his party and president... The man has gonads!!!

His vote to kill 'Trumpskinnycare' was brave but I don't see the analogy with McCarthyism.

I think there is a small element within US Conservatives who are actually prepared to take a stand against Trump. He is one of them but others are too afraid/cowardly.

Though I disagree with his politics, John McCain is a decent man and a true American hero. I have no doubt that he votes what he truly believes. I hope he goes down in history as a hero who did his best to stop our country from becoming an autocracy.

I wouldn't go quite that far. But his vote against the "deathcare" plan, along with his colleagues Murkowski and Collins, was very courageous in view of Trump's notorious vindictiveness.
