Actually y'all Mattis proposed a delay in accepting transgender people into the military so that more research could be done on the overall effect, but nobody on the advising council was actually suggesting an outright ban. People with serious mental health issues are already barred from joining the military and its not like transgender people get some kind of free pass, so citing mental health concerns doesnt make a lot of sense. President Trump said in his tweet that it was due to the tremendous increases in healthcare cost that allowing transgender people into the military would incur. Btw this is all really basic stuff that you can google in like 5 minutes so theres no need to wildly conjecture about it

@jademarley He should have waited until the issue was studied thoroughly before announcing a "decision" on twitter, particularly since the military isn't moving in that direction at the moment. But Trump is an asshole of the highest degree and doesn't bother to read or pay attention to facts. And if serious mental impairment is disqualifying for military service, then why doesn't it apply to the president, who is the Commander in Chief?

@SW-User What? I'm not saying I agree with the decision, I think it was absolutely stupid. I'm just correcting people who seem to be misinformed about the whole incident
