Do you find this at all disturbing??

@SW-User very, very bad things

This is what worries me. Could our country truly move in that direction? I don't think as a whole. I am hopeful that there are places that remain safe. Actually, my real hope is that the good people overwhelm the bad. But, do we have the cohesion and determination? That is the ultimate question. So far, it is a toss up.

@SW-User I believe we are way too evolved/enlightened in 2017 to allow this to go too far or be the "norm" but much violence can occur before they are squashed

I'm not convinced. Germany was the most evolved and open country in Europe before WW1. Bad people exploit fear and change. @Fernie

@SW-User How evolved could they have been in 1938? There are the trump supporters with the same mindset as the German people were then...which is why they see trump as a good leader and follow him BLINDLY...I'm pretty sure we are much more awake and aware than they were back then.... basically trump has his fan base left in terms of popularity

By 1938, they had lost WW1, were paying reparations to France and England and had a 25% unemployment rate. With what is going on, I can see similar disruption in the US if we follow some paths. That is the frightening scenario.
