Pretty much every President has been compared to Hitler or something Nazi in the past 20 years? This is no different. Everything is labeled racist or Nazi now.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@ravenwind43 This is very different. We have white supremacists in the White House. This has not been the case with any former president and staff, Democrat or Republican.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@windinhishair And the former President supported racist black causes and refused to call out terrorism....so what is the difference? This is why debating politics is silly:)
Fernie · F
@ravenwind43 It's SO annoying when people start with the "every president" ...that is dangerous..that is normalizing this monster in the WH...NO president has been this insane and dangerous in recent history and to trivialize this sick bastard's behavior....completely detached from the reality of the citzens....never worked a day in his life...about to kill people (insurance) adores dictators, his grifter family running things...I could sit here ALL day and type thee examples...no...this is something we have never seen before
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@Fernie People said Bush was evil. People said Obama was evil. Trump is evil. The next will be evil.👍
Fernie · F
@ravenwind43 should we shut up about it then??? This is MY life this moron is screwing with. My safety and health. Maybe all he is doing won't impact YOUR life but for millions of us...he's about to kill many of us. It needs to be kept alive so debating it...talking about it can, will and has to happen. Otherwise...people fall asleep and they steamroll over us and THAT is OUR fault
Fernie · F
@ravenwind43 and more and more people are saying that they see bush as an angel compared to this sicko because he is extremely insane
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@Fernie I am saying stuff like this was said about Obama and here we are. The world is still spinning and he didn't turn out to be the anti-christ. He did a lot of dangerous stupid stuff and so will Trump...the world is going to keep on spinning.
Fernie · F
@ravenwind43 that mindset is dangerous...please don't trivialize this demons behavior...clearly you don't get it
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
If people realized that the world of politics was simply a game and a money making venture they would stop going on about it. Nothing really changes it just gets renamed or rearranged. They need the populace to freak out or hope it's going to be better. America was an experiment and like all great nations will likely fail. Whoever has the reins makes no difference. Laws and policies and bills are all means to keep overpaid people busy. Once you accept this, it all will fall into place.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@ravenwind43 Ahh, the Panglossian approach from Candide. Politics is NOT a game. Decisions made in Washington and in State capitals impact people throughout the country. People live or die every day based on them. Laws affect families and their well-being. To say that it is all meaningless is to live in a land of make-believe.
Fernie · F
@ravenwind43 I will ditto what windinhishair just said. Your...what appears to be a very casual attitude about what is happening makes you a huge part of the problem...where is the outrage? Outrage right now in this sick political environment is necessary to keep our democracy, women's rights, rights of minorities, ...no outrage means no real understanding of the danger we are in...many Germans had your attitude in 1938 and ...well, we all know what happened
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
Honestly....I am of the belief America will fail and it's only a matter of time. Therefore, I prep and do what I can to increase my own chances of survival (and those I care about.) At that point it doesn't matter whether an R or D is behind the name. Shit is shit:)
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
I also didn't say it is all meaningless but it is still a game nonetheless. Games still have "rules" so to speak. The rules dictate that the government wins and the people lose. Insurmountable odds. I choose to do what I can for me and mine.
That is the limit for me. I have already said way more than I wanted. I respect your opinion. 👍
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@ravenwind43 It is smart to do what you need to do to ensure your own survival, and that of your loved ones. I do the same. But it isn't incompatible with working to try to make the world a better place at the same time. I guess the difference between us is that you have given up out of frustration. I am frustrated as well, but I haven't given up yet. I understand where you are coming from.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
I think improvements to the world and people come from other people, not the government. I almost never get into politic talk because it solves nothing and is derisive most of the time and I prefer to avoid it.
windinhishair · 61-69, M
@ravenwind43 Real change always comes from people, often from individuals. In the end, even if we don't like it, the government IS the people. Not only can it change, it must change with time, and it is people who drive that change. That is what you are seeing play out politically right now on both sides. I agree much of it is (needlessly) derisive and uncivil.
