Real ID Identification

Have been trying to get a Real ID compliant driver's license for several years. A good six trips to DMV or so. I gave up during COVID and am back at it.

In Florida you need two proofs of ID (the website says one), proof of social security, and several proofs of residence. It's been tough trying to get the DMV clerk to accept my records.

Wow that's crazy...

Did you just move into the state?

I thought a unity bill with an address would usually be good enough.
@Viper I’ve lived here since ‘86.

@Viper That's usually enough for a regular driver's license. But a Real Driver's License is good enough to get you through TSA on domestic flights, and other high security things, so the requirements for it are more like for a passport. I thought I would never be able to get one because the county I was born in said they had no record of my birth certificate. Then I finally located a copy of my birth certificate to go with other documentation. That's why I shake my head when anyone says getting a photo ID in order to vote is no big hassle. Perhaps not for those born in the electronic age with a silver spoon in their mouth.

I no longer live in Florida, but had moved there in '93.
So many hurdles to go through to not only get my license, but my registration transferred over.
