I Write Poetry

Distant Memories
by: Rob Paquin

Like a distant memory
Floating across a dream

Every moment taken
Is another endless scene

Replaying like an echo
In a never ending stream

To awaken all the inner thoughts
That reside in me.

Like that fire's flickered sparkle
Sitting behind her eyes

With a thousand tiny cherubs
Flying through her skies

And like that smile upon her face
That never tells the lie

There lies a million distant memories
Of another time gone bye

And Another one of mine

I was dreaming-
I was caught up believing in fairy tales.
I was lost creating my own stories.

I was dreaming-
For but a moment able to create a reality
so clear with eyes closed...
I was dreaming-
Clearly breathing your air and feeling
your touch.

I was dreaming-
Not seeing your face yet our lips touched
and the tear that fell

I was dreaming-
The warm wet streamed down my cheek.
And I realized the tear was not my own.
And I was afraid to open my eyes and you’d
be gone.
Because it was then I knew
You were dreaming
too.

In The End

by: Rob Paquin

And in the end, when I look back
To see my beaten, worn out track
To see all that has come before
The many faces I adored
Will my feelings still turn Black

And as the end begins for me
I look forward to what will be
To stand outside the Heaven's gates
to wonder if I died too late
Will I be set free

And with the end now set in stone
An ending where I die alone
Without a worry, nor a care
for all the adventures I did dare
shall I find my home

And with my end now forgone
with many dreams now withdrawn
crumbled pieces of a life
that never seemed to go quite right
my soul was gladly pawned
