I Write Poetry

Distant Memories
by: Rob Paquin

Like a distant memory
Floating across a dream

Every moment taken
Is another endless scene

Replaying like an echo
In a never ending stream

To awaken all the inner thoughts
That reside in me.

Like that fire's flickered sparkle
Sitting behind her eyes

With a thousand tiny cherubs
Flying through her skies

And like that smile upon her face
That never tells the lie

There lies a million distant memories
Of another time gone bye

I love reading poetry. Especially when it moves. And yours does move. Thank you for sharing.

Dancer of Light

by: Rob Paquin

See the twirling dancer girl
Dancing in the rain
Laughing at the inner hurt
and smiling through the pain

See her spinning faster now
Despite the molten chains
That seek to bind her soul to thoughts
That her happiness might be restrained

Yet she keeps on dancing
Her steps measured and maintained
If you watch her dancing closely
You'll see her radiance remains

The Canon so contemporary
It may be hard to ascertain
Applied to her execution
All Dynamically Sustained

In unison with her own self
An inner light, life cannot stain
Her gorgeous nature overwhelming
Retrograde Legato to my brain
