I Write Poetry
Drenched In Anguish
Wet thoroughly with the future tears of that which has angered me.
I was pushed and fell into a stream of provocative waters.
They whispered to me the reasons I should be angry.
I was not let go until I became convinced.
Do not ask me why I am drenched when you know you helped to push me in.
I was completely submerged,
Fought it for as long as I could.
Holding my breath until I was finally convinced and
I now freely have inhaled the waters.
They have given me life,
On top of what I already had.
My strength multiplied,
I would say run but that won't save you for long
The lifeguards they come,
Only that it's way too late.
They try to pump up my chest
As if I'm unconscious, so I can cough out water they say.
Instead, I laugh, isn't it cute.
Perhaps they should be fired,
For a job not done.
I used to be sweet, but you showed up too late.

As if I'm unconscious, so I can cough out water they say.

For a job not done.
I used to be sweet, but you showed up too late.
