I Write Poetry
Tell me what you think. Be honest.
“If Love Was”
If love was a wall,
I would build it high,
greater than all the tower ever made,
I would climb it higher past all clouds
or further than any bird could ever fly.
It would gravitate towards the heavens
far above all parts of the world...
so i could shout out to everything around and let love be known,
If love was a river,
I would swim them all,
to the ends of the earth and back again,
past every creature known to man,
and every person in all the lands...
so I could swim to everything around and let love be known,
If love was a pathway,
I would walk them all,
take every road new and old,
either paved or riddled with holes
I’d past every broken alleyways and every war torn citie
I would grace them all
so i could walk to everything around and let love be known,
if love was a color
i would paint every corner and every crumbling wall of the world.
i would go to the farthest thresh hole
and reach the highest summit.
i would travel the richest cities and every slum known to man
from one end to another i would paint every inch
so the world could see the love that could be, love that should be.
if it was up to me,
if love was anything it would be in every heart
and every spoken word, in every thought or action made.
love would be in every breath we take,
and we would all go to great lengths to love one another
without reason or motive to make every day better than the one before it.
