I Write Poetry

"Turn the Stars Down Low"

She was just a girl
From the deep south.
Her tears sailing
The curve of his mouth.

Her silken locks blissfully
Dancing about his chest,
While the earthen clay
Tugged at her country dress.

His nimble fingers tangled
In her simple daisy chain,
To weave feather after feather.
Stroking her pain.

Her voice a shivering whisper,
"Someone already broke this heart."
His eyes, so bright, seared her
To the bone--never to depart.

A crescent moon
Perched atop Lover's Rock.
The roaring river silenced
By his rapid tick-tock.

His sincerity falling
through her cracks.
His stature, ten-feet tall.
He lay plain the facts.

"You are a lady
through and through, a vision of light.
You are my favorite place, face to face.
Feels like home, graceful in my sight."

Without air, his breath
Resuscitated her soul to believe.
Under the weeping willow,
He fell on his knee.

The rain tapping on the flowers,
Fallen from her hair
Seeming like a symphony
To the love we share.

His nurturing spirit screaming,
"I was born to make love
To You, my love!
Only You!"

That is beautifully written Autumnglow. There is so much feeling and meaning in this. Thank you for sharing this.

Fragility
The healing of pure love,
Belief in a soul so beautiful,
The tears of fear turn to joy
The shelter of the mighty oak
Solid, never wavering
Always by your side.
To love you forever.

I thought I knew love, until I met you.

I feel the same. Thank you for being the beautiful person you are.
