The Unshared Space

The Unshared Space

I only wanted a simple place to stand, A platonic bond, an open, steady hand.
To share a laugh, a story, or a view, And build a casual friendship, true and new.
I brought my warmth and left the hallway wide,
With honest grace and nothing left to hide.
But every step I took to close the space, Met a closed door in a guarded place.
It takes a toll to always reach across, To weigh the effort and accept the loss.
I will not message to a closed door, Or chase a conversation anymore.
I'm letting go of what I hoped would be, The friend I imagined who wasn't there for me.
I leave the social frustration down the hall,
Realizing your silence said it all.

maybe if you stoped blowing kisses at them?

I find your linebreak choices tres curieuse indeed, but I think it works here. I especially like the line "I will not message to a closed door, or chase a conversation anymore."

Aw sad. 😌
I've never seen you write before. It was lovely to see.
