Fleeting Memories

There were these encounters
Fleeting ever so slightly
Where one find someone
That holds the “perfect” key
To open the hideousness of an already open book
Dissecting every happy, angry, sad, and sinful memories
No promises, no redemption
No bouts of consequences
They are just there to open the door
And exit the stage like nothing ever happened
Only to find their cookie crumbs
Peppered all over the floor with so-called “lessons”
I, for one, had a belief that it happens
To the most of us..
And it had been one of us, too
Saying niceties and whatnot
Never knowing tomorrow will be cut short
Choking you.. or them
With uncertainties and insecurities
Until realization slaps you briefly..
One thing you’re a flea clinging at the back of their neck
Then on the other, you’re already fleeing
And in that moment, it’s no longer in the passing
But more like a “cross to bear” you’ve buried so hard
That your mind decides it’s just a fleeting memory

This piece has been heavily influenced by watching “Fleabag”. Hence the use of “flee” “flea” and specifically because of the last scene (see below). I do hope, after the utter chaos produced by my mind, it would entertain and feed your curiosity.
Thank you 😊

Lovely 😊.
I like your style 😏 The closing lines evoke a powerful moment of clarity, suggesting that even as memories fade, their significance lingers, shaping who we are. It encourages me to consider the weight of some of my own fleeting memories and the lessons they carry.

Haven’t gotten round to watching that series as of yet ….
