I Write Poetry

I wish my body didn't remember what it felt like
To curl into yours
But my muscle memory won't let it go
And I wish I didn't remember all the words we used to shout
But my throat is still sore from all the yelling
You are the reason I put broken and promise together in my mind
And the reason I am reluctant to show that I am broken
Because every time I showed you all the cracks,
You found a way to slip through them and pollute me

Perhaps it's my fault I mistook you for water
When you were toxic.

Ouch! Sorry this BF didn't work out, Smiley. Your poem shows that you are a sensitive, intelligent, and articulate girl....and with all these good qualities....once you're done with a bit of grieving....there's a lad out there who's gonna love making a great gal like you happy.
