The Riddle Tree
The Riddle Tree
Always a puzzle
This cycle of living
A riddled rustle
Of the pieces I’m missing
The key to my reverie
Is locked in this rhyme
A forgotten memory
Frozen in time
Wind passes over
Dancing my leaves
Then follows October
And my dormant dreams
Reaching out with my fingers
I stretch to the sky
Catching sun as it lingers
I let out a sigh
Laughing at the smaller things
And carvings others wrought
Crafting my leaves and seeds
I’m settling into deeper thoughts
This cycle of living
A riddled rustle
Of the pieces I’m missing
The key to my reverie
Is locked in this rhyme
A forgotten memory
Frozen in time
Wind passes over
Dancing my leaves
Then follows October
And my dormant dreams
Reaching out with my fingers
I stretch to the sky
Catching sun as it lingers
I let out a sigh
Laughing at the smaller things
And carvings others wrought
Crafting my leaves and seeds
I’m settling into deeper thoughts
