I Write Poetry

Sometimes I wonder
What kind of being you are
able to make me feel
Simple emotions now complex
Before when these feelings held simple definitions.
Short meanings.
And then you
And every day I tacked on a new definition
And every moment these simple emotions became
Not so simple
Their meanings were long
I added examples
And every kind and sweet gesture was another
Example
So I add it
And now I find myself running out of words
And running out of space
Trying to define something
That once before had been so simple
And after you so complex
If you'd ask me I couldn't even tell you what the emotions mean
I've tried defining it in different languages
But I still can't find the right phrase
Perhaps I should invent a word to decipher it's true meaning
Though the feeling inside me is constantly changing
While the words remain static
Tell me how do I define an emotion that's become so involved
With words that in a different tongue, would mean nothing at all..

Nice, your a complex writer. May i ask why you do not title them?
Alexiel · 31-35, F
I used to title my poems when I was younger because everyone else did. I don’t title them anymore because I think it limits the poetry. Without the title this poem can be about any feeling depending on who’s reading it, it’ll be interpreted differently. However, if I title it I limit the poem to my perspective alone and I’d like the reader to fit it into their own experience and feelings. Thank you.

@Alexiel Very insightful. I used to write mine in paragraph form, for more of story like feel.

My poetry is of the dark sort, an unsound mind perspective. Some say the hurt tears at their heart.

@badgay You’ve piqued my interest. Dark poetry is something I can drink all day and not grow tired of.
