I Write Poetry

I Went for a Four Mile Walk Today

I went for a four mile walk today,
And soaked up the glorious rays.
My pores opened up and devoured their snack,
Spring’s arrived here with no delays.

A menagerie of children, enjoying the park,
Dogs pulling at a tangled lead.
People in all different sizes and age,
Abilities, skin-colour and creed.

Reflective marvels upon the lake,
Of giant-like antique trees.
The rippled dance-floor of graceful white,
Swans entwined, in gentle breeze.

I went for a four mile walk today,
Life sounds, they caressed my ears.
Positivity provoked by the sun’s embrace,
Displayed hope and took away fears.
