I Write Poetry

You're an apparition.

You feel so near and distant, close and far away.

Your touch is cold, yet a vague warmth lingers.

Traces of your voice echoes inside my head - fleeting.

You haunt me at night,

When I can nearly feel you on my fingers.

Into myself, I keep on running - retreating.

You're that apparition now,

Because you chose not to stay.

How can I love a ghost?

Simple - It was always you that knew me the most.

I thought you'd light my way,

Yet the void you left is a chasm only I can fill.

Despite myself, I let go and pull away.

But I fear part of me will always love you still.

You're my apparition.

The depth of your love shines through the simplicity of your words.
You have a talent.

@SW-User I believe the depth of my love is aparent to her, but it is what it is. You can't force your love on other people.

Thank you for your kind words. I want to rekindle my passion for writing, and words like yours help.

@GeistInTheMachine you are right. We cannot make anyone feel something. Or appreciate something.

I really believe you should turn your emotions into poems. It helps to put them down on paper so to speak and also, you have a talent. And what better inspiration than pain?

@SW-User I've been thinking along the same line. I have a number of ideas I've jotted down. One for a short story as well.

This poem started out as just several lines I wrote while I was in the shower, thinking too much as per usual. Haha.

@GeistInTheMachine Lol. A lot of my great thoughts come to me in the shower. There has to be a reason behind that. But I digress.
I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
