I Write Poetry
I had a dream this morning, the moment as I woke up... And I remembered this whole ditty play out in one verse - probably a microsecond if the neurologists are to be believed...
Well, here goes!
By the way, the dashes usually mean extend the word over the next note OR triplets (say/sing it a little faster than the beat).
The ... and .... mean a shorter or longer pause
The ! means shout out or play with oomph!
And the , means a pause (surprise).
The tune I will leave to you to imagine, and it could use a flute over the uke.
My (Mrs) and Me Went To The Sea
A little ditty for the ukulele (and flute)

So, we... Went for-a-walk
Down to the sea
There were fish we found
And the great big sound
Of the waves as-they crashed
Into the mound
Of the sea defense
Oh what a sound
...
So she clambered down
To be with the crowd
And watch the fish
As they swam around
And the sharks came in
Like true bloodhounds
And.... Cut to the ukulele
...
Now I panicked there,
Standing up high, bu-ut
Stricken, down
By-the thought - Oh My!
She-e could be found
By a Great White Shark(!)
And... Cut to the ukulele
...
So I called her name
And I shouted clear
But she could not hear
And she had no fear,
For the sharks ate-the-fish
And the people stared
And Cut to the ukulele
...
Oh... I... stopped and stared
Watched the people stare...
With a few up there
Almost couldn’t bare
Cos we were so scared
There was blood in the air
The Great White wasn’t there...
And.. Cut to the ukulele.
...
So, What, happened next
No-one expects
We walked a-long
Watching the throng
My-self from high
And she down low
The sun beat down
A fantastic show
And! Cut to the ukulele
...
Well, the.. sea woke up
From her rocking dream
Sent a giant wave
That I could see
But my Mrs, Oh!
She could not hear...
And she could not see...
For the sharks ate-the-fish,
And the people stared...
And!... Cut to the ukulele
...
Oh... The.. wave crashed down
On the people, see,
There was no Great White
Far as I could see...
But it didn’t get me
As I stood on high
Looking o-ver-the-scene
Playing in my eyes.
When the wave fell back...
And the beach was bare....
How I pined for her
Ran my hands through my hair,
And I looked to the sky
And a building there
Lo-oked like it had
Some people in...
So I marched right down
From my high up perch
A-nd what I saw
In-my dis-be-lief
Was a skyscraper,
She’d been watching me
From a place way high-er,
Than I could see.
[Ukulele!]
Well, The, highs and lows
In-the life we live,
We-e all stand there
On our mounds and stare,
Bu-ut some times-it’s-best
To go down and see
Nature’s masterpiece
Up close and free...
Cos the world steps back
When-we go to her
And-she gives us pleasures
That we can not dream
But to make them better,
She crashes us down
And with our eyes wide open,
Skyscrapers are found.
